The Role

As an Electrician on our Fire Alarm and Security Installation team you will install program and test fire alarm systems in commercial buildings. You will meet new customers every day and use your technical skills to give them the protection they need with paid training to expand into programming low-voltage and security systems.

What Youll Do (Essential Functions)

• Install and program fire alarm control panels and equipment using building plans and electrical layouts.
• Review installation manuals building plans and work orders to plan device and wiring locations.
• Mount devices and run wiring including drilling for cable paths and working in attics crawl spaces and above ceilings.
• Terminate and connect system components in compliance with codes safety standards and customer requirements.
• Inspect and test systems to make sure all components perform properly and meet code.
• Identify and repair malfunctions in components or wiring; order and install replacement parts.
• Show customers how to use their system and answer their questions.
• Complete documentation and reports for each visit following company procedures.

What You Bring

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of electrical or low-voltage installation experience.
• High attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in fast-paced situations.
• Valid drivers license and a driving record that meets Silcos vehicle insurance requirements.

Preferred

• Journeyman electrician license or Certified Professional Electrician (CPE).
• Electrical technician certification (e.g. ETA EETC NICET).
• Experience with fire alarm panels.
• Networking experience with security or CCTV systems.
• CAD software knowledge.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to climb ladders use lifts and work at various heights.
• Able to lift carry and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Frequent standing walking bending kneeling and crouching throughout the workday.
• Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools power tools and testing equipment.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces or outdoor environments as needed.
• Requires occasional pushing pulling and reaching overhead.
• Must be able to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Capable of driving company vehicles and transporting equipment or materials when needed.
• Ability to remain alert and focused while performing detailed or repetitive tasks.
