The Electrical Wiring Coordinator at the Global Artisan Innovation Center (GAIC) supports electrical technicians in diagnosing and repairing wiring issues during vehicle build events in the electrical crib and on the General Assembly build floor. This role also provides support for Assembly Plant build events and other launch activities in alignment with the Global Vehicle Development Plan (GVDP).

You will act as the issue champion for electrical concerns identified during build events using strong technical judgment problemsolving skills and initiative to drive timely resolution.

What Youll Do
  • Support new vehicle launches by resolving electrical build issues during preproduction validation and launch activities at GAIC and GM Assembly Plants.

  • Lead rootcause analysis containment correction and followup for electrical product process software calibration release and materialrelated issues.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing quality engineering suppliers and UAWrepresented teams to resolve build issues and improve electrical system performance.

  • Support wiring harness and supplier launch activities including launch protection plans manufacturing assessments process improvements and readiness for key build milestones.

  • Review and interpret vehicle wiring drawings electrical schematics and billofmaterial systems to diagnose issues and drive effective problem solving.

  • Use GM systems (including PRTS JIRA and other plant quality tools) to document issues track progress and drive closure prior to launch.

  • Support plant electrical testing rework activity and early build readiness through standardized documentation test tools and repair guidance.

  • Capture lessons learned and recommend process and/or design improvements to strengthen future launches and reduce repeat issues.

Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency with common electrical test equipment (e.g. multimeter oscilloscope).

  • Experience with serial data communication protocols (such as GMLAN MOST and/or LIN) and related test tools (e.g. NeoVI DPS Tool).

  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for complex electrical and system issues.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to make sound timely decisions with a strong focus on safety.

  • Experience with automotive electrical systems functional subsystems and Electric/Hybrid/Autonomous vehicle systems.

  • Ability to learn and operate within GM systems including:

    • Wiring schematics and electrical drawing interpretation

    • EMS (Engineering Materials System)

    • ABAT (As Built As Tested Bill of Materials)

    • Teamcenter

    • Microsoft Office (PowerPoint Word Excel)

  • Demonstrated skills in diagnostics troubleshooting and vehicle repair technology.

  • Strong interpersonal skills that support effective teamwork and problem solving.

  • Selfmotivated and innovative with the ability to summarize complex issues for nontechnical audiences.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Quality or a related technical field.

  • Certifications or specialized training in vehicle programming diagnostics or automotive electrical systems.

  • Experience coordinating large crossfunctional teams within a build or launch environment.

  • Prior involvement in MEV/EVC processes or preproduction build events.

  • Knowledge of GM electrical architecture.

  • Experience with GM systems such as PRTS JIRA SPPS and eSAP.
