As an Electrical Superintendent youll be the driving force behind the successful execution of all electrical operations on-site. From planning and coordination to hands-on oversight youll ensure every aspect of the electrical discipline is delivered on time within budget and to exact specifications. Your role will flex depending on the client and project scalesometimes leading a small team other times orchestrating large-scale efforts with broader authority. Responsibilities
  • Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
  • Manage a combination of two or more Leadmen Foremen and Superintendent I and up to 60 or more employees
  • Supervise overall direction coordination performance and evaluation of sub-contractors
  • Must be able to perform all the duties of a Level I Superintendent and Foreman
  • Directly supervise coordinate and delegate activities of Superintendent(s) Foreman(men) and/or construction trade workers in one or more occupations
  • Coordinate activities of multiple subcontractors
  • Interact with client in order to keep the project on schedule and under budget
  • Maintain a well-organized receiving system
  • Prepare accurate two week look-ahead
  • Perform all types of job layouts with the latest technology
  • Communicate effectively to employees in oral and written form
  • Perform minor estimating
  • Understand and use schedules
  • Complete all required project reports and maintain appropriate documentation on all facets of the project
  • Ensure that all operators are certified and maintain all equipment on the project
  • Assist Human Resources and Superintendent by interviewing hiring and training appraising work performance and addressing complaints of employees in the field
  • Manage lead direct reports and mentor.

SUPERVISORY:

  • Supervise up to five foremen and lead other superintendents and crews consisting of up to 100 or more employees.
Qualifications
  • Five (5) years experience/knowledge or combination of experience and education in a supervisory role

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
  • When on-site actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
  • Set a personal example of safe behavior.
  • Organize instruct and supervise construction crews and sub-contractors in all areas of construction
  • Knowledge of all construction tools machinery methods and procedures
  • Must be able to forecast and monitor costs of project
  • Understanding of construction methods scheduling and blueprint reading
  • The ability to demonstrate leadership lead by example motivate workers and communicate with workers subordinates and clients
  • Computer experience with Microsoft office Email and Internet preferred
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
  • May need to maintain physical strength and stamina; Use arms hands and legs fully; Push pull and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and stoop kneel balance crouch crawl and climb to perform job tasks.
  • Stamina to perform this task repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals.
  • Uncontrolled environmental conditions: Constant change in weather and site conditions.
  • This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures dirt dust fumes smoke unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes gloves safety glasses hearing protection hardhat vest etc.).
  • Move in and around confined cluttered and uneven areas.
  • May need to work at heights and must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements; must be able to wear and utilize all safety equipment required for work at heights.
  • Evaluate information based on measurable standards; and see details in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings.
  • Keep good balance and work at heights.
  • See well (either naturally or with correction).

  • Coordinate the use of eyes hands and feet.
