The Electrical Service Technician at Freeman Electrical Contractors runs residential and commercial service calls from start to finish: diagnosing the problem explaining the repair and its up-front price to the customer completing the work safely and to code and leaving every home and business confident in the Freeman name.

- Respond to residential and commercial electrical service calls across Freemans South Georgia and Tallahassee service area.
- Diagnose electrical problems and determine the right repair troubleshooting circuits panels breakers outlets lighting switches and related systems.
- Perform electrical repairs replacements upgrades and installations including lighting fixtures receptacles switches disconnects panels and related equipment.
- Service commercial customers interior and exterior lighting and electrical signage.
- Perform electrical inspections and identify code and safety issues.
- Read and interpret electrical plans diagrams and schematics.
- Use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Explain problems options and Freemans flat-rate pricing clearly to customers so they can make a confident decision before work begins.
- Complete service work efficiently while holding a high standard of workmanship.
- Document work performed materials used and customer recommendations accurately on every call.
- Follow company safety procedures and all applicable local state and national electrical codes.
- Maintain tools equipment and the company vehicle in clean organized good working condition.
- Represent Freeman professionally with customers coworkers general contractors and other personnel.
- Electrical troubleshooting: Works through a problem methodically uses meters and testers to prove the cause and fixes the root issue rather than the symptom.
- Code and safety knowledge: Knows the NEC and local requirements recognizes hazardous conditions on sight and never cuts corners on safety.
- Customer communication: Explains technical problems in plain language presents options and pricing honestly and earns the customers trust.
- Independent judgment: Manages a day of service calls without supervision and knows when to call the Service Manager for support.
- Quality and attention to detail: Takes pride in clean correct work and accurate paperwork and leaves every work area cleaner than it was found.
- Professionalism and dependability: Shows up on time looks and acts the part in customers homes and businesses and follows through on every commitment.
- Proven experience as an electrical service technician or electrician with strong residential troubleshooting and repair skills required; commercial service experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems equipment and applicable codes and the ability to read plans diagrams and schematics required.
- Ability to use hand tools power tools meters and electrical testing equipment safely required.
- Experience with panels service upgrades generators lighting and code corrections preferred.
- Experience using service-management or electronic work-order software preferred.
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening required.
- Must be able to work from ladders in attics and crawl spaces and in other confined or physically demanding areas.
- Must be able to stand walk bend kneel reach climb and lift electrical materials and equipment as needed.
- Must be able to work outdoors and in unconditioned spaces in South Georgia and North Florida weather.
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle to service calls throughout Freemans service area.
