Job Overview
Join Cargill as an Electrical Mechanic and help keep our plant operating safely reliably and this hands-on role youll maintain and troubleshoot mechanical electrical and automated systems support equipment upgrades and assist with programming changes under guidance. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving working with automation and contributing to equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
What You will Do
- Perform inspections and maintenance on mechanical electrical and automation systems across the facility.
- Troubleshoot moderately complex machinery and automation issues including motor controls sensors and control devices.
- Modify and implement programming on computer-controlled systems with guidance.
- Support reliability improvements and provide feedback on equipment performance and asset health.
- Assist with the design installation and upgrade of new or modified equipment and machinery.
- Maintain equipment safety performance and compliance standards while following established maintenance practices.
- Willing to work overtime weekends holidays or variable shifts with advance notice.
- Other duties as assigned
What You Will Need
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to understand and communicate in English verbal and written.
- Minimum one year of experience in industrial electrical automation and mechanical maintenance.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors including at heights of 4 feet or more and capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs. climbing bending and twisting with or without reasonable accommodation and while using appropriate PPE.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience operating forklifts or similar mobile equipment.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems such as SAP.
- Experience with inventory or parts management systems.
- Experience performing maintenance trades such as welding pipefitting or fabrication.
- Knowledge of hydraulics pneumatics pumps gearboxes and bearing systems.
