Vanderlande is seeking a Panel Shop Supervisor (Working Lead) to help launch and support our new electrical panel shop located in White GA. Reporting directly to the Production Manager this position will play a critical role in establishing production operations leading daily workflow activities and ensuring that quality and production goals are achieved.
This is a hands-on leadership position. The successful candidate will not only supervise and coordinate work within the panel shop but will also actively participate in the assembly wiring testing and troubleshooting of industrial control panels. As the shop continues to grow this individual will help develop processes mentor team members and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence.
- Lead daily operations and workflow within the panel shop to support production schedules and customer requirements.
- Perform hands-on assembly wiring testing and troubleshooting of industrial electrical control panels.
- Supervise and support panel shop technicians providing guidance training and technical expertise.
- Ensure all work is completed according to electrical schematics engineering drawings quality standards and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with Production Manufacturing Engineering and other cross-functional teams to address technical issues and improve efficiency.
- Monitor productivity quality and work cell performance while communicating progress and potential concerns to the Production Manager.
- Maintain a safe organized and efficient work environment while promoting compliance with company safety programs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to panel design assembly processes and production throughput.
- Assist with panel inspections testing documentation and quality verification activities.
- High School Diploma GED Technical Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience assembling wiring troubleshooting or testing industrial electrical control panels.
- Previous experience leading a team directing work activities or serving as a lead technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical components including relays contactors circuit breakers terminal blocks power supplies and PLC I/O.
- Experience using electrical hand tools and test equipment including multimeters wire strippers crimpers and torque tools.
- Understanding of electrical safety practices including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and NFPA 70E principles.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform work requiring standing bending and repetitive movement throughout the workday.
- Associate degree in Electrical Technology Industrial Maintenance Mechatronics or a related field.
- Experience with UL 508A panel construction and/or UL MTR certification.
- Certified Electrician or equivalent electrical trade certification.
- Experience in material handling systems conveyors automation equipment AGVs or AS/RS systems.
- Previous experience helping establish or grow a manufacturing or panel shop operation.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
