Job Summary
GAI Consultants Inc. is seeking an EIT 2 to work with the Power Generation Business Sector on primarily Power Generation projects and when needed other regional projects. GAI offers its employees the ability to work remotely or in a hybrid setting. The successful candidate will be working out of the Louisville KY office and will perform both design and monitoring tasks under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer.
Job Duties:
- Site Grading Plans
- Erosion and Sediment Control Plans
- Stormwater Management Plans
- Hydrologic and Hydraulic / Drainage Plans
- Utility Design and Relocation Plans
- Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans
- Geotechnical Investigations
- Permit Applications (earth disturbance permits building permits land development plans high
occupancy permits etc.) - Access Road Section Development
- Construction Drawings Specifications and Quality Control Plans
- Construction Cost Estimates
- Owners Engineer Support During Construction
- Field Investigations
- Daily/Weekly Construction Inspections
- Earthwork Construction Quality Control
- Compaction Testing
- Concrete Testing
- ESC Inspections
- SWPPP Inspections
- Environmental Monitoring
- The candidate should have the desire and ability to travel to Project sites as needed primarily
in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to workindoorsin professional office settings.
- Ability to sit for extended periods whileperforming computer-based tasks.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing writing and handling office equipment.
- Visual acuity to readprinted materials digital screens detailed documentsand perform detailed work.
- Occasional standing walking bending or reaching within the office move between workstations and attend in-person meetings.
- Ability to lift and carry office materials or equipmentweighingup to 10-20 pounds with or withoutassistance.
- Adequatehearingtoparticipatein conversations phone calls and virtual meetings.
- Ability to travel for meetings training or business purposes.

Education
- B.S. or M.S. Engineering
Certification/Licensure
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer-in-training (EIT) or engineering-intern (EI) certification.
Technical Responsibilities
- Performs basic design tasks.
- Assists on tasks such as: field activities material testing CADD work permit applications and report writing.
Project and Task Management
- Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
- No managerial responsibilities at this level.
Management Responsibility
- Receives close supervision on most aspects of assignments particularly on difficult problems and a general review of all aspects of work.
- Receives mentorship from a licensed engineer.
Communication Skills
- Possesses basic oral and written communication skills.
- Engages in few project stakeholder interactions.
