EHS Specialist

Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator/Specialist needed at a manufacturing plant. Excellent benefits provided. This job is in Mattoon IL. Please do not apply if you will need visa sponsorship of any kind either now or in the future.

• You will be responsible for guiding safety health and environmental initiatives at the company.
• Ensure compliance with all local state and federal regulations such as OSHA and EPA
• Foster an incident and accident-free workplace through education coaching training.
• Analyze and take corrective action on accidents involving people or property.
• Create and monitor safety and accident prevention statistics.
• Assist with workers compensation reporting.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Safety Safety Engineering Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Health and Safety. Two-year degrees may be considered with good experience.
• One or two years experience with a four year degree in a manufacturing environment. More experience is necessary with a two year degree. Must have experience in an EHS role with a manufacturing company.
• Military and other experience in workplace safety will be considered in lieu of a degree. Internships or co-op experience are great pluses.
• Must have excellent skills with MS Office tools for the purpose of writing reports communication by email analyzing statistics developing PowerPoint presentations.
• Some knowledge about Behavior Based Safety programs.
• Must be willing to work in a factory/manufacturing environment.
