Position Overview:
You will serve as the primary Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) resource supporting third-shift operations at Polaris Huntsville Alabama this role you will help ensure compliance with environmental health safety and security regulations while supporting the implementation of enterprise-wide EHS policies programs and initiatives. You will partner with employees leaders and external stakeholders to promote safe operations environmental stewardship and continuous improvement. You will also contribute to cross-site best practice sharing and enterprise EHS projects. This is a compelling opportunity to have a direct impact on employee safety regulatory compliance operational performance and environmental programs within a complex manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental health safety and security regulations as well as company policies procedures and objectives.
Plan coordinate deliver and evaluate EHS training programs including topics such as hazard communication lockout/tagout hazardous waste management and storm water management.
Conduct routine safety and environmental inspections audits and compliance assessments; identify risks recommend corrective and preventive actions and verify completion through follow-up activities.
Lead incident investigations determine root causes and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
Analyze near misses EHS reports and facility performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Manage hazardous waste compliance requirements and monitor waste handling and disposal activities.
Coordinate required environmental monitoring sampling testing and reporting activities to support permit and regulatory obligations.
Prepare maintain and submit EHS documentation permits reports plans logs and other regulatory records.
Serve as a facility resource on employee safety asset protection emergency preparedness site security and EHS compliance matters.
Support ergonomic assessments and continuous improvement efforts to reduce workplace injury risks.
Review capital projects and contractor activities to ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
Promote recycling initiatives and support the sharing of EHS best practices across sites.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial health safety and environmental role within a complex manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of environmental health safety and security regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience conducting EHS training inspections audits and incident investigations.
Ability to prepare and maintain regulatory documentation reports permits and environmental compliance records.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
Ability to build relationships influence stakeholders and support EHS initiatives and change efforts.
First Responder First Aid and CPR certification.
