Job Summary
Job Description
This position is responsible for the implementation and coordination of Virginia Educators Rising student organization activities in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to enhance Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructional programs. Other duties include: coordinating student events leadership development and recognition programs; providing support and professional development for educators; managing financial oversight and compliance for student and contract funds; assisting with strategic planning and board operations; and delivering additional services as identified by the VDOE.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in education teacher preparation or a related career and technical education field. The incumbent must have at least three years of experience as a professional/advisory-level member of a career and technical education co-curricular student organization with preference for experience in Educators Rising or a related organization supporting the education and training career cluster. Proficiency in database and spreadsheet software (e.g. Excel) website maintenance and content management systems and the use of financial and budgeting tools to support program planning and resource allocation is required. The position requires strong organizational interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work independently and manage priorities. Considerable knowledge of coordinating and administering student organization activitiesincluding meetings conferences and co-curricular programsand overseeing organizational operations including planning implementation and evaluation of programs is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in education teacher preparation or a related career and technical education field.
Valid Virginia teaching license with endorsement in Career and Technical Education (CTE) or a related education field.
Experience as an Educators Rising advisor or involvement in teacher preparation or education and training programs.
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development or integration of co-curricular student organizations into instructional programs.
Experience planning and managing student conferences leadership events or large-scale educational programs at the district state or national level.
Familiarity with state and federal education policies CTE frameworks and CTSO guidelines.
Experience with grant management budgeting or financial oversight in an educational or nonprofit setting.
Strong background in partnership development with K12 schools and business/industry partners.
