Job Description:

This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) engineering student ambassador position for the Division of Ecampus at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Division of Ecampus is a growing innovative and collaborative organization with a commitment to providing high-quality online education. The division extends Oregon State Universitys exceptional learning experiences including microcredentials certificates and degrees available to students throughout Oregon and around the world.


The division includes Ecampus offering over 130 online and hybrid degree programs; the Ecampus Research Unit (ECRU) conducting and supporting original research in online teaching and learning; the Corporate and Workforce Education Unit (CWE) creating pathways for learners employed by collaborators in business and government; the Open Educational Resources Unit (OER) aiding faculty in adopting open course materials; and the Alternative Credential Unit (ACU) developing short-form educational opportunities.

We are looking for an Ecampus Student Ambassador - Engineering to Join OSU Ecampus and help expand access to an Oregon State University education for engineering students wherever they are. As a nationally recognized leader in online education Ecampus connects students with the academic excellence resources and support of Oregon State while creating flexible pathways for learners balancing education with work family military service geographic location and other this role you will make a meaningful difference at the beginning of that journey building relationships with prospective engineering students helping them envision what is possible and connecting them with the people and resources that can help them succeed.

Position Duties

  • Provide personal experience as an Ecampus student and field questions covering topics including admissions academic programs financial aid enrollment procedures and defer to other Ecampus staff when unable to answer prospective student questions.
  • Understand prospective engineering student needs and connect them with appropriate university resources.
  • Complete a high volume of targeted outreach while meeting deadlines through phone email text live chat and video appointments.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach conducted with prospective engineering students and follow-up activities in CRM systems.
  • Represent Oregon State University when presenting virtual information sessions webinars and recruitment events.

Qualifications:

Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: be academically enrolled in a high school community college or university and pursuing a program or course of study

  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

  • *International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered full-time by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the
    Office of International Services(OIS) and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.


    Required

    • Currently enrolled as an Engineering major.
    • Current Ecampus student.
    • Completed at least one term.
    • A demonstrable commitment to inclusive excellence.
