Job Summary
Position Overview:
LSH Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and nurturing educator to fill a full-time split position serving as a 3-Year-Old Preschool Teacher (0.5 FTE) and Interventionist (0.5 FTE). This unique role blends early childhood classroom teaching with targeted student support ideal for an educator passionate about both foundational learning and individualized intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
Preschool Teacher (0.5 FTE 3-Year-Old Classroom):
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with early learning standards
- Foster a safe engaging and inclusive classroom environment
- Support social-emotional cognitive and physical development
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
Interventionist (0.5 FTE):
- Provide targeted academic and/or behavioral interventions to students in need
- Work with individuals and small groups to support skill development
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- Collaborate with teachers specialists and support staff
- Maintain accurate documentation of interventions and outcomes
- Build relationships and partnerships with early childhood families.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education Elementary Education or related field
- Valid teaching license (or ability to obtain)
- Experience working with young children preferred
- Knowledge of intervention strategies and data-driven instruction
- Strong communication organization and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with early childhood special education or intervention programs
- Familiarity with assessment tools and progress monitoring
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
