Position Overview:
Davies Development Center is seeking compassionate and reliable Substitute Teachers to join our team and provide coverage when regular teaching staff are absent. This role is critical in maintaining a nurturing structured and engaging classroom environment for children ages 12 months to 5 years. As a Substitute Teacher you will assist children in daily activities encourage communication and social development and support the classroom routines established by the lead teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage children in a safe supportive and positive environment.
- Follow established classroom schedules lesson plans and routines.
- Assist with feeding diapering/toileting and transitions as appropriate for age level.
- Encourage speech listening and social interaction during play and activities.
- Communicate effectively with staff and when appropriate with parents.
- Ensure a clean organized and safe classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or early childhood coursework preferred.
- 3 years of experience working with young children (infant through preschool age) strongly preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms and teaching styles.
- Patience compassion and strong communication skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification a plus (or willingness to obtain).
Compensation & Schedule:
- Hourly Rate: $15 $18 (based on experience and qualifications).
- Flexible as-needed schedule.
