Direct Support Professional - Community/Client Home Based Services
Pay Rate: $16/hr
Part Time- schedule TBD with employee input

Seeking employment that makes a difference in the lives of others Become a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with Skill Creations Inc. a nonprofit agency helping people with disabilities meet their personal goals. The DSP works in the individuals home and/or in a community setting providing care according to the specific needs and goals of the individuals.
Job Description:
Provide support to a cool college student who likes goofing around and hanging out downtown. His interests include chess video games and bike riding. A day with this individual may include walking his dog eating Duck Doughnuts and assisting with physical therapy exercises. Potential to be fun and rewarding.
Hands-on duties will include:
- Assisting with ambulation eating/drinking and personal care
- Providing transport and companionship out in the community
- Doing leisure activities together
- Supporting him in achieving his personal goals

Requirements:
- High School GED or College Transcript from an accredited school.
- Valid NC Drivers license and acceptable Driving Record.
- Criminal Record Check.
- Completion of paid training in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management.
- Basic computer skills for e-mail electronic training modules and data recording.
- Ability to remain on ones feet most of the time.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and to occasionally balance bend stoop and kneel.
- Prompt and regular attendance. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays.
- Ability to meet client-specific needs.
