Job Summary

The job of Dropout Prevention Specialist is done for the purpose/s of providing support to students who have dropped out or are at-risk of dropping out of the educational system; providing information and/or referrals to community resources; addressing barriers to attendance and enhancing program services and participation. Incumbents in this classification provide direct academic support to students and teachers which directly supports learning. Dropout Prevention Specialists may be assigned to more than one school site.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:Targeted job related education that meets organization prerequisite requirements. High School diploma GED or equivalent is requiredEXPERIENCE REQUIREDExperience working in a K-12 public school setting is preferredLICENSE REQUIRED:Valid California Drivers License and Evidence of Insurability
