Job Summary
The Driver and Utility Worker plays a vital role in supporting daily dining operations by transporting food supplies and equipment between campus dining locations while assisting with back-of-house responsibilities. This position ensures that all retail outlets receive the products and resources needed to operate efficiently and provide exceptional service to guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport food products supplies equipment and other items from the main production facility to approximately six campus dining locations.
- Deliver backup meals and other food items during service periods to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Load unload and organize deliveries while maintaining product quality and food safety standards.
- Verify delivery accuracy and communicate inventory shortages or discrepancies to management.
- Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries from supply and food vendors.
- Support dish room operations by washing dishes utensils pots pans and kitchen equipment as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas loading docks vehicles and workspaces.
- Follow all company health department and food safety regulations.
- Provide general utility support and assist kitchen or service teams during peak business periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of dining operations.
Skills Knowledge & Expertise
- Valid drivers license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and follow transportation procedures.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand walk bend push pull and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in various environments including kitchens loading areas and outdoor conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service warehousing delivery or utility operations.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
