DRIVER


1.0JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

1.1The basic function of the driver is to operate several types of trucks/equipment.
1.2Main duty would be operating a roll-off container truck.

2.0REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

2.1The driver reports to and is directly accountable to the Equipment Manager.


3.0REQUIREMENTS

3.1Education

3.1.1Required: High School Diploma.
3.1.2Preferred:

3.2Licensing / Registration / Certification

3.2.1Valid CDL Class A and/or Class B Drivers License with clean driving record.

3.3Experience

3.3.1Required: None.
3.3.2Preferred: At least 1 year of construction experience.

3.4Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

3.4.1Position requires the ability to follow instructions and operate a variety of related equipment.
3.4.2The skills to judge distance and slopes accurately and make decisions based on verifiable standards.


3.5Physical Requirements

3.5.1The employee must be able to stoop bend and crouch.
3.5.2Must be able to use hands arms and legs fully.
3.5.3Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction).
3.5.4Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

3.6Mental

3.6.1Must be able to communicate read and write in English.

4.0WORKING CONDITIONS


4.1Work will be performed mostly outdoors. Workdays will vary depending on weather conditions. There may be days when overtime in needed. Ajax pays time and a half for all hours worked over 40 hours in a week.
4.2Normal workday will be from 7:30am 4:00pm.


5.0ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

5.1Operate various types of construction related trucks.
5.2Deliver material & equipment to various locations.
5.3Must be punctual.
5.4Assist warehouse crews when not driving/delivering.

6.0DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

6.1Complete equipment maintenance checklist beginning each day and prior to each trip.
6.2Maintain accurate and legible mileage log for vehicles operated.
6.3Complete all required delivery forms and turn into equipment manager each day.
6.4Report any equipment malfunctions and/or problems to equipment manager.
6.5Clean vehicles each week.
6.6Be at work on time every workday.

7.0MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE

7.1Completes checklists for all trips made on a daily basis.
7.2Maintains accurate and legible mileage logs for each vehicle.
7.3Completes and turns in all delivery forms to equipment manager on a daily basis.
7.4Reports any and all equipment malfunctions immediately to equipment manager.
7.5Cleans vehicles on a weekly basis.
7.6Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality.
