Job Description:
- The DRE (Design Release Engineer) - BIW Underbody is responsible for the design development validation and release of underbody Body-in-White (BIW) components and assemblies.
- This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills as a significant portion of the job involves coordinating activities across design manufacturing simulation and supplier teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and release of BIW underbody stampings and assemblies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure design performance quality and manufacturing requirements are met.
- Effectively communicate technical issues listen to stakeholder concerns and drive resolution of engineering challenges.
- Review and understand forming simulation reports to assess manufacturability and support design decisions.
- Utilize basic CAD knowledge to facilitate discussions with designers and review engineering solutions.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure dimensional integrity and compliance with functional requirements.
- Support design reviews change management activities and product development milestones.
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to collaborate listen and clearly communicate technical concerns.
- Knowledge of BIW underbody stampings and assembly development.
- Understanding of sheet metal forming and forming simulation reports.
- Basic CAD proficiency NX
- Teamcenter
- Strong GD&T knowledge and application.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced cross-functional automotive environment.
