DOT Route Driver

Job Summary
Operate commercial motor vehicles to safely and efficiently deliver merchandise to store locations while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations company policies and safety standards. Responsible for timely route execution accurate freight handling vehicle inspections load security and maintaining a high level of customer service and operational reliability.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations OReilly policies and transportation procedures.
- Execute assigned delivery routes according to designated stop order routing instructions and scheduled delivery timelines.
- Perform and document required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with FMCSA regulations and OReilly standards.
- Maintain accurate Hours of Service (HOS) records utilizing OReilly telematics systems and/or paper logs as required.
- Deliver merchandise accurately by verifying freight bills location information and shipment contents prior to unloading.
- Verify secure and transport all manifested returns back to the distribution center.
- Ensure cargo loads trailer doors and security devices are properly secured before during and after deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned vehicle and equipment.
- Follow established safety procedures environmental standards and operational compliance requirements.
- Coordinate effectively with transportation leadership and supporting departments to ensure efficient route execution.
- Adapt to changing delivery schedules route assignments operational priorities and business demands as needed.
- Troubleshoot and report vehicle freight or operational issues when necessary.
- Create working relationships through excellent customer service and effective communication in all interactions and daily responsibilities.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
- Current Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
- Valid DOT physical certification and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings.
- Strong attention to detail required to accurately verify freight documentation and delivery information.
- Previous route delivery or commercial driving experience.
- Familiarity with telematics systems electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation technology.
- Proficiency in one or more additional languages.
