Position Summary
The Door & Machine Shop Associate plays a key role in the fabrication assembly and modification of doors within our machine shop. This position operates CNC machinery and other production equipment to manufacture high-quality door products that meet company specifications and standards. Success in this role requires strong mechanical aptitude attention to detail and the physical stamina necessary for material handling and hands-on production work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions
Operate CNC machines and other equipment to fabricate and assemble doors according to specifications.
Interpret blueprints drawings and measurements to execute precise machining operations.
Safely load unload and transport heavy materials and finished products within the shop.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery and work areas.
Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Assist in training new associates sharing knowledge of procedures and best practices.
Collaborate with the Production Supervisor and team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean organized work environment.
Support a team-oriented culture by cross-training and assisting across all areas of Operations as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of two years of manufacturing experience with one to two years in a machine shop environment preferred; prior door manufacturing experience is a plus.
CNC machining experience preferred.
Proficiency operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Self-motivated organized and able to work independently.
Willingness to work extended hours as needed to complete required tasks.
Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments in response to business needs.
Ability to maintain a positive professional demeanor in a dynamic work environment.
Work Environment
Schedule: Day Shift MondayFriday 6:00 AM 2:30 PM (occasional OT and weekend work as needed)
Ability to work extended hours to complete required tasks
Prolonged periods of standing bending and squatting
Ability to continuously stand or walk bend squat climb stairs and lift frequently
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds including 75 pounds occasionally with assistance
Work performed in a manufacturing and machine shop environment with potential exposure to noise dust and machinery hazards.
