Position Summary

Mesabi Metallics is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing organizing and controlling all project documentation within the organization. This role is critical in ensuring that all documents are accurately maintained distributed and compliant with industry standards and project requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Construction Manager the Document Controller will be responsible for the following:

  • Collect scan and upload documents following set procedures
  • Copy scan and store documents
  • Check for accuracy and edit files
  • Review and update technical documents (e.g. manuals and workflows)
  • File documents in physical and digital records
  • Create templates for future use
  • Retrieve files as requested by employees and clients
  • Record and stamp documents for Construction information and other uses
  • Manage the flow of documentation within the organization
  • Ensure all technical documents such as reports drawings and blueprints are collected and registered in system
  • Notify personnel of updated document versions and how to access them
  • Print and distribute documents as necessary
  • Work with documents and records across various departments including engineering and construction

Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Document Management and document capture/image capture systems
  • Familiarity with project management
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in document or records management.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office and MS Excel.
  • Proficient typing and editing skills.
  • Data organization skills with attention to detail.

Education

  • Associate degree or higher in computer science business administration or similar field

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires regular work in front of a PC desk and phone.

Salary Range

  • $66000 - $85000 annually depending on experience and qualifications
