Job Description:

The Distribution Center Project Associate Engineer supports engineering automation facility capital and continuous improvement initiatives across A&Fs distribution network. This role partners with Operations Facilities Safety Procurement Finance Technology and external vendors to deliver projects that improve productivity operational readiness equipment reliability and distribution center capabilities.


What Will You Be Doing


  • Coordinate facility infrastructure automation and capital projects from planning through implementation and operational handoff.
  • Manage project schedules budgets approvals vendors contractors purchase orders invoices risks and stakeholder communications.
  • Support distribution center modernization initiatives including automation RFID print & apply material handling equipment robotics and other warehouse technologies.
  • Assist with the evaluation and implementation of automation solutions such as AS/RS Goods-to-Person systems sortation equipment AMRs and AGVs.
  • Partner with Operations and Technology teams to support system integration operational readiness and successful project execution.
  • Analyze operational performance and labor productivity to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support peak readiness activities capital planning and future network investments.

What Do You Need to Bring


Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Supply Chain Operations Management Construction Management or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2 years of experience supporting engineering automation facility capital or continuous improvement projects in distribution logistics manufacturing fulfillment or similar environments.
  • Experience coordinating vendors contractors project budgets schedules purchasing activities and project execution.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations material handling equipment facility infrastructure and industrial engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with distribution center technologies including automation RFID robotics sortation systems WMS WES labor management systems and operational analytics tools.
  • Strong project management analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities identify risks and drive projects to completion.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Comfortable working in an active distribution center environment while balancing planning and execution.
  • Safety-focused detail-oriented and motivated to deliver measurable operational improvements.

Success in this role is measured by the ability to safely deliver projects improve operational performance strengthen distribution center capabilities and serve as a trusted engineering partner to Operations and Supply Chain leadership.
