About the role
Reporting to the Distribution Operations Manager the Distribution Area Manager provides leadershipdirectionand hands-on involvement for the Distribution department. They plan and execute daily activities to ensure internal and external customer demands are met while driving continuous improvement of safety quality delivery inventory and costthrough the use ofLean Manufacturing tools. The Distribution Area Manager measures gives feedbackrewardsand/or top-grades associates to ensure that the right talent is on the team.
This position is part of the Shipping/Receiving and Distribution teamlocatedin Romeoville IL and will be onsite in Romeoville IL.
In this role a typical day will look like
Daily supervision of staff (approx. 30) to ensure internal and external customer demands are met.
Leading teams in meeting safety quality delivery inventory and cost goals through the use of Lean Manufacturing tools.
Tracking each teams achievement of Standard of Work and ensuring the team records all improvement opportunities.
Creating and executing data-driven action plans to improve standard work and performance.
Working with order management to evaluate customer orders versus available labor and materials developing a daily and weekly build/ship plan and meeting on-time deliveryobjectives.
Creating and executing policy deployment action plans across all areas of responsibility usingVeraltoEnterprise System tools budget reports and short- and long-term company goals.
Evaluating associates performance developmentplansand merit recommendations; coachingtrainingand counseling associates to improve performance; working closely with HR to resolve issues and top-grading talent asto ensurea strong team.
The essential requirements of the job include
1 year ormore ofdirect management experience. BA/BS degree a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively with both Sr. Leaders and Associates.
Scheduling planning and project management skills and experience as well as strong time management skills.
Data and fact-based problem solving and reporting skills.
Lean manufacturing experience (Kaizens Kanban root cause counter measures etc.).
Basic financial understanding.
Experience with inventory management.
Ability to read write and speak English.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associates position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance shift travel requirements sales or revenue-based metrics any collective bargaining agreements and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $90000 - $110000 USD per job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
