Dishwasher | Part-Time | PPL Center

The Dishwasher serves a variety of essential back-of-house and front-of-house Food & Beverage roles including working as a dishwasher food runner deep cleaning the kitchen and all equipment and other miscellaneous duties. The Dishwasher washes and sanitizes all tableware small wares serving materials and cooking equipment. Dishwashers are required to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. Dishwashers are also required to gain extensive knowledge of the proper use and cleaning techniques for kitchen equipment including but not limited to steamers ovens mixers grills and dishwashing equipment.

This role pays an hourly rate of $14.00 - $16.00

PPL Center is a state-of-the-art multipurpose arena in downtown Allentown PA and home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The arena seats more than 10000 for concerts and more than 8500 for Lehigh Valley Phantoms professional hockey games making it the regions largest event venue. The amenities-packed PPL Center hosts more than 150 events each year offering something for everyone including the Lehigh Valley Phantoms the AHL affiliate of the NHL Philadelphia Flyers live concerts family shows trade shows youth sports high school and collegiate events conferences graduations and so many more.

• Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service interaction with co-workers and uniform standards.
• Take pride in personal appearance reporting to work in neat and clean clothing and maintaining well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy.
• Ensure a clean safe and pleasant atmosphere is maintained in the kitchen and other work areas always.
• Perform any opening and closing side work as required.
• Maintain a positive attitude in high-stress situations.
• Operate dishwashing machineset up load run and remove clean dishes once the process is complete.
• Maintain dishwasher cleanliness ensure filters are frequently cleaned.
• Place clean dishes correct storage locations.
• Manually wash and scrub dishes that do not fit in the dish machine and ensure that they are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
• Empty all trash cans and remove them to appropriate dumpsters.
• Maintain loading and receiving areas to ensure they are in clean and safe condition.
• Report safety hazards or unsafe conditions/practices to management immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a friendly positive attitude with co-workers management staff volunteers and guests.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends some holidays and long hours.
• Attention to detail is vital to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift push pull or carry heavy objects.
