Director, Rehab Research SCI Division TIRR
Job Summary
The Director of Rehabilitation Research provides strategic and scientific leadership for the Spinal Cord Injury Divisions research program. This role oversees spinal cord injury research initiatives while maintaining an active research program leading and mentoring investigators developing new studies and securing external research funding.
Lead TIRR Memorial Hermanns rehabilitation research program and strategic direction.
Develop and implement short- and long-term research goals and initiatives.
Advise the TIRR CEO on research strategy and opportunities.
Represent TIRR with leading public and private agencies academic institutions and professional organizations.
Build and maintain strategic research collaborations and partnerships.
Support the research efforts of TIRR investigators and clinical staff.
Maintain an active rehabilitation research program.
Develop major research initiatives and identify funding opportunities to support them.
Assist with fundraising efforts to expand and sustain TIRRs research programs.
Perform additional research or clinical leadership responsibilities as assigned by the TIRR CEO.

- Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Experience & Skills
- Nationally recognized record of achievement in medical rehabilitation research including successful federal research funding and a strong record of peer-reviewed publications
- At least 7 years of administrative or research leadership experience as a program director department head and/or principal investigator
- Knowledge of federal and other funding sources for rehabilitation research
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with clinicians researchers academic institutions and other partners

Required Skills:
