Job Summary

About the Role:

You will develop a strategy for the Associations personal financial planning discipline. This strategy will guide where we expend time money and energy to make the highest impact. This impact includes responsibility for revenue and controllable expense budget. Additionally it involves pipeline and growth in the US and internationally. You will also provide direction to the PFP Section PFS credential and the 120k members who provide these services. You will report to the VP - Member Value Tax & Advisory services and lead a small team. You will use a hybrid work schedule.

You Will:

  • Lead the PFP discipline by deploying and overseeing a team. Your team will develop the strategy focus areas and collaborative efforts. The collaborations involve committees company partners and external relationships including members member committees firms universities state societies vendors and other organization leaders and influencers. These relationships span both domestic and global territories.
  • Grow our membership including the public accounting practice unit PFP section and PFS credential; controllable expense budget PFP- and PFS Credential-related products including development and marketing.
  • Be the primary subject matter expert and Association representative for personal financial planning. Lead programs include governing and developing standards advocacy and member benefit suite. Focus on credential pathway university pipeline and learning programs. I also respond to media inquiries and create best practices for the discipline. Understand the relevance of financial planning to the profession both now and in the future. This understanding ensures our and members long-term success.
  • Oversee governance and advocacy for the discipline through your leadership of team and task force committees. Ensure the work is aligned with the Association and discipline goals. Lead the senior executive committee in the development of discipline standards. Speak out publicly on behalf of the profession.
  • Strategize and oversee the development of programs for the PFS. These programs include defining the body of knowledge creating credential pathways education and exam. Additionally you will expand the credentials and related offerings internationally. Meanwhile you will oversee the domestic credential program.
  • Ensure member satisfaction and committee and task force satisfaction by overseeing team interactions and effectiveness in responding to member needs
  • Conduct interviews make hiring decisions; provide salary recommendations; monitor and assign work; mentor; develop work plans and conduct performance evaluations

You Have:

  • 8 years related experience
  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field
  • CPA license or Personal Financial Planning designation preferred

The Annual Salary Range for this role is: $165k - $200k
