Job Summary
A leading telecommunications and utilities infrastructure services provider is seeking an experienced Director of Contracts to lead the negotiation review execution and ongoing management of customer and subcontractor agreements. This position will play a key role in managing contractual risk ensuring compliance supporting business development and helping the organization structure agreements that protect the company while creating value for its customers.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing contracts within the telecommunications infrastructure fiber wireless utilities construction or related industries with the ability to work strategically with senior leadership while also providing practical contractual guidance to operations and field teams.
- Lead the review negotiation execution and administration of customer subcontractor and vendor contracts ensuring alignment with company policies business objectives and legal requirements.
- Review RFPs RFQs proposals MSAs SOWs and other commercial documents identifying contractual risks obligations and opportunities before execution.
- Partner closely with Senior Management and Legal to negotiate terms and conditions resolve non-standard provisions and minimize contractual and financial exposure.
- Identify evaluate and mitigate contractual risks compliance issues claims and potential disputes throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Support the negotiation and preparation of change orders amendments addendums and other contract modifications to protect company interests and maximize project value.
- Work closely with Construction Operations Preconstruction Engineering Finance Sales and Project/Field Teams to structure agreements and ensure contractual requirements are understood and properly executed.
- Provide contractual guidance and training to project managers field personnel and operational teams helping ensure compliance with executed agreements.
- Assist with contract and subcontract dispute resolution working with Legal and operational leadership to develop effective solutions and minimize liability.
- Review and maintain project work orders and contractual documentation ensuring obligations deliverables and commercial terms are properly tracked.
- Develop maintain and update standard contract documents including Master Service Agreements subcontractor agreements NDAs SOWs and related commercial templates.
- Support strategic business opportunities by providing contractual and commercial input during deal structuring and business case development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders while serving as a key contractual resource throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
- Drive contracts from initial review and negotiation through execution administration modification and closeout.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance Engineering Construction Management or a related field; Masters degree is a plus.
- 20 years of telecommunications or related infrastructure industry experience with a minimum of 15 years of progressive contracts management experience.
- Extensive experience negotiating and administering telecommunications construction fiber wireless utilities or infrastructure contracts.
- Strong understanding of commercial contract terms risk allocation project obligations change orders and contractual compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex agreements identify risk and develop practical business solutions.
- Excellent negotiation communication presentation and relationship-management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively with Legal Executive Leadership Sales Finance Engineering Preconstruction Construction and Field Operations.
- Strong strategic and analytical capabilities with the ability to operate effectively at both the strategic and tactical levels.
- Proven ability to support the sales and business development process negotiate commercial terms and help drive opportunities through contract execution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 25% as business needs require.
The successful candidate will be a strategic contract leader who understands the telecommunications infrastructure business and can bridge the gap between Legal executive leadership sales and field operations. This individual must be comfortable negotiating complex agreements identifying risk solving contractual issues and helping the organization close and execute business while protecting its interests.
