Job Summary

A Director of Tax and Treasury professional manages an organizations cash flow banking relationships and tax liabilities to optimize financial health. They balance short-term liquidity with long-term financial strategies ensuring compliance with regulations and minimizing tax burdens.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury Functions:

  • Cash Management: Monitor daily cash inflows/outflows reconcile accounts and forecast liquidity to avoid cash shortages.
  • Risk Management: Mitigate financial risks by managing foreign exchange exposures and interest rate fluctuations through hedging programs.
  • Capital Structure: Develop and execute strategies for debt/equity financing and optimize the companys investment portfolio.
  • Banking Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for financial institutions and manage corporate bank accounts.

Tax Functions:

  • Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and filing of federal state and local tax returns (including sales and use tax).
  • Strategic Planning: Design tax-efficient structures for international operations mergers acquisitions and cross-border transactions.
  • Audit & Risk: Track legislative changes manage relationships with third-party tax advisors and represent the company during tax audits.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Taxation or Economics.
  • Certifications: Professional credentials like a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) are highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (like SAP or Oracle) Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and advanced financial modeling.
  • Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills a solid understanding of IRS and local tax codes and excellent risk management abilities
