Job Summary
The Director of Related Servicesis responsible fordeveloping andmaintainingcomprehensive systems to effectively oversee every aspect of planning implementing and evaluatingRelated Services withing Springfield Public Schools. This role ensures that all processes are structured to support the delivery of high-quality targetedrelatedservices and assessments.
Day-to-DayResponsibilities
- Develops andmaintainssystems to effectively manage all aspects of planning implementation and evaluation ofrelatedservices.
- Assistsin the recruitment ofrelated service providersand provides leadership in the areas of supervision staff and program development and evaluation of department personnel.
- Works collaboratively with the Chiefof Exceptional Learningand Exceptional Learning Supervisorsto managedepartmentbudgets.
- Creates procedures and routines to assign related service providers andmonitorcompliance.
- Provides administrativeoversightintothe purchasing distribution and implementation ofassessments;including digital assessments.
- Provides technical support in the delivery ofrelatedservices and district procedures.
- Confers with parents families schooland administrative staff as well as university and other community contacts.
- Assistsin the development and delivery of professional development for staff asrequired.
- Establishes andmaintainsprofessional relationships.
- Performs other duties as assigned by theChief of Exceptional Learningand Related Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Massachusetts certification as a supervisor/directoror SpecialEducationAdministrator.
- Masters degree inspecial education or related field doctoral degree preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of the urban school setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the school Districts STAT and IEP team process.
- Demonstrated successful experience in thesupervisionand implementation of related services.
- Demonstrated successful experience working with parents andthecommunity in a multicultural and multilingual setting.
- Demonstrated experience in team building and planning.
- Superior oral writtenand interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficientin computer technology.
