The Director RN Residency Program provides strategic operational educational and fiscal leadership for the organizations American Nursing Credentialing Centers (ANCC) Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) accredited or accreditation-seeking RN Residency Program. The Director is accountable for the development design implementation evaluation and continuous improvement of the residency program and serves as the organizations designated Program Director for ANCC PTAP accreditation.
The Director ensures the successful transition of newly licensed registered nurses into professional practice through a structured residency experience that includes organizational orientation competency-based learning professional development mentor-ship preceptorship and practice-based learning. The position collaborates with executive leadership educators managers preceptors academic partners and interdisciplinary stakeholders to promote nursing competency retention workforce development and nursing excellence.
The Director serves as the primary liaison with ANCC PTAP and is accountable for maintaining accreditation standards demonstrating program outcomes and supporting organizational strategic goals.
THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION UNTIL 2030
Current valid NYS Registered Nurse license Nursing Professional Development.
Graduate degree or higher with either the baccalaureate or graduate degree in nursing required.
Masters degree in Nursing Nursing Education Nursing Professional Development Healthcare Administration or related field requiredDoctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) PhD EdD or related doctoral degree preferred.
Certification (NPD-BC) preferred Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) preferred NEA-BC NE-BC or other nursing leadership certification preferred.
Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive nursing leadership experience required experience in nursing education nursing professional development residency programs workforce development or transition-to-practice programs experience with program development curriculum design competency assessment and outcome evaluation.
Experience leading an ANCC PTAP-accredited program preferred experience managing accreditation processes experience with nursing workforce retention initiatives ANCC PTAP Program Director Eligibility Requirements.
Demonstration of education and/or experience in adult learning principles required
Maintaining accountability for program development design implementation and evaluation required.
Required to serve as the primary ANCC PTAP contact.
