Job Summary

Position Summary:Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent or designee The Human Resource Director ensures all duties and responsibilities associated with employee recruitment hiring and exiting processes staff retention programs contract and employment law compliance employee relations and conflict resolution and human resource record keeping and reporting are performed timely ethically and with integrity. Performance Responsibilities:Post all new positions and positions that are scheduled for renewal as instructed by the Superintendent. Email notification of postings for certified staff and list on Aspen. Email notification of postings to classified staff. Post positions to SchoolSpring as instructed by the Superintendent respond to public inquiries and coordinate district interviews. Interview substitute a monthly list of agenda items to be given to the Superintendents office listing appointments resignations leave of absences for the monthly school committee meetings including memos along with supporting documentation (interview forms applications and resumes) in order for Superintendents office to prepare packets for school committee and present brief biographies of new hires at monthly School Committee confidential personnel files as required by R.I. law and district policy. Develops partnerships with colleges and universities professional associations and other recruitment agencies to develop channels for recruiting investigations participates in hearings facilitates the resolution of employee complaints as Title IX and Compliance Officer including training administrators reviewing incident reports and overseeing monitors and communicates information related to non-renewals degree status certifications/licensure attendance seniority evaluations leaves of absences FMLA Workers Compensation and unemployment claims and related requests for information from the RI Dept. of Labor & Training. Attend unemployment hearings as analysis reports and other materials as requested by the collaboratively with other district administrators and union leadership in assessing districts staffing needs for the upcoming school assessment of staffing and substitute assignments as dictated by contract with Council 94 and the WWTA and management of the nursing absences and daily and maintain data for all staff (administrators certified including long-term subs coaches and all classified) in the Personnel Data Collection System PDC for the RI Department of Education. Report new hires to the State of Rhode Island New Hire Reporting a current teacher assistant assignment list given the contractual language on pending transfers at the semester point & maintain a current coach assignment annual substitute teacher/teacher assistant handbooks and send them to substitutes at the start of each school of teacher assistant training programs including tracking of job assignments/related required training (Autism CPI CPR ED/BD etc.).Consultation with the RI Interlocal Risk Management Trust as and co-facilitate the Annual Job Assignment Process for Council of Teacher Certification with RIDE including Emergency Certification process. Monitor expiration dates of staff a database of all employees including substitute staff student teachers coaches and new employees in completing the required district paperwork and coordinate their distribution to other departments within the school Rhode Island Department of Education HR trainings/ duties as assigned by the Superintendent of and Evaluates:Manages coordinates and supervises day-to-day activities of the Human Resource departmental staff in the Human Resource office providing periodic observations and evaluations that are timely and constructive and completed based on the timetables set by the school training and guidance as necessary based on evaluations and departmental needsDirect reports include the Confidential Secretary for Human Resources Confidential Clerk for Human Resources Confidential Benefit Clerk for Human ResourcesMinimal Qualifications:Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Management Human Resources or a related programPreferred Education: Masters Degree in Human Resource Management Public Administration or related programPreferred Experience: 5 years experience in personnel administration and public relations with a R.I. public school systemMinimum of 3 years of experience supervising and developing the capacity of HR staffExperience developing and managing budgets with demonstrated knowledge of municipal/school business and HR practicesProficient using data to guide professional practices make decisions and when making suggestions for improvementKnowledge of and direct experience with employment and civil rights laws and regulations employee relations conflict resolution recruitment and employee retention program developmentDetail-oriented with strong organizational time management and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office suite particularly EXCEL and WORD Google and other computerized tools to relevant to human resource systems (i.e. ASPEN Schoolspring etc.)Ability to work collaboratively to address concerns and resolve conflict in a professional courteous mannerTerm Of Employment:Work year with salary as determined by the West Warwick School : An annual performance evaluation will be completed by the 1/16/24
