Ocean Place Resort & Spa is seeking an experienced and driven Chief Engineer to oversee all aspects of our engineering and facilities operations. This leadership role is responsible for protecting and enhancing the hotels physical assets while ensuring a safe comfortable and exceptional experience for our guests and team members.

• Lead and manage all engineering operations for the resort.

• Oversee maintenance and operation of HVAC plumbing electrical refrigeration water treatment and life safety systems.

• Ensure all building systems operate safely efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulations.

• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to protect hotel assets and minimize downtime.

• Conduct routine inspections and identify opportunities for repairs upgrades and capital improvements.

• Develop manage and monitor departmental budgets.

• Control expenses and maximize operational efficiencies.

• Participate in capital planning renovation projects and vendor management.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records logs and compliance documentation.

• Recruit train coach and develop engineering team members.

• Create staff schedules and manage payroll processes.

• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and support.

• Foster a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement.

• Support exceptional guest experiences through prompt resolution of maintenance-related concerns.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations safety protocols Lockout/Tag-out procedures PPE requirements and hazardous material handling standards.

• Respond to emergencies and provide leadership during critical incidents.

• Engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical education trade school training certifications and relevant experience.

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive engineering leadership experience in hospitality resorts hotels or a comparable industry.

• Valid certifications and licenses required by state and federal regulations including HVAC certifications where applicable.

• Strong knowledge of building automation systems energy management systems and preventive maintenance software.

• Proven experience managing departmental budgets and capital projects.

• Advanced understanding of mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC and life safety systems.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical manuals and schematics.

• Exceptional leadership communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to train and mentor a diverse workforce.

• Ability to lift carry push and pull up to 50 pounds independently and assist with heavier loads when needed.

• Ability to climb ladders stairs and service ramps.

• Frequent bending stooping kneeling reaching twisting and walking throughout the property.

• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and respond to emergency situations as required.
