The organization works to prevent and alleviate family poverty and homelessness through homelessness prevention shelter housing stabilization and supportive services. They utilize a trauma-informed housing-first approach with the goal of ensuring household stability while promoting self-sufficiency.



About the Role:

The Director of Development and Administration serves as a member of the organizations leadership team and works closely in support of the Executive Director to strengthen the organizations fundraising systems donor stewardship operational effectiveness and organizational infrastructure. The Director will help ensure that the organization has the systems processes and follow-through necessary to support continued growth and impact.


Key Responsibilities:

Development and Fundraising

  • Manage and continuously improve donor stewardship systems and moves management process.
  • Serve as the primary internal owner of CRM platform and donor database.
  • Coordinate donor communications acknowledgments and stewardship activities.
  • Conduct prospect research and support donor cultivation strategies.
  • Prepare briefing materials and follow-up plans for donor meetings.
  • Support annual giving campaigns and fundraising events.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to track fundraising performance and donor engagement.
  • Partner closely with the Executive Director on major gift strategy and execution.
  • Help ensure continuity and follow-through across all aspects of development work.


Administration

  • Improve organizational systems and processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate organizational projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain institutional knowledge and documentation.
  • Support implementation of new technology and organizational systems.
  • Coordinate logistics for events meetings and organizational initiatives.
  • Provide hands-on support for operational needs that allow staff to focus on their primary responsibilities.
  • Assist the Executive Director with operational partnerships software implementation special projects and organizational problem solving.


Supervision and Leadership

  • Supervise AmeriCorps VISTA members and interns assigned to development communications volunteer engagement or organizational support functions.
  • Support professional development of supervised staff and volunteers.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership and program staff across the organization.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the Executive Director on organizational strategy and continuous improvement.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow projects through to completion.
  • Comfort balancing strategy and execution.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.


Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in fundraising development nonprofit management operations communications or a related field.
  • Experience using CRM systems or donor databases.
  • Experience managing projects or coordinating complex initiatives.
  • Experience supervising staff interns or volunteers.
