Director, Network Observability & Compliance

Marriott International (MI) is transforming its global network technology to offer the most advancedmost securemost reliable and most scalable networks in the highly skilled and motivated professional to lead our Network Observability and Compliance function. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability visibility and security of our global network infrastructure. The successful candidate willbe responsible fordesigning and implementing observability frameworks thatprovidereal-time insights into network performance availability and user experience while also driving compliance with industry standards regulatory requirements and internal security policies. This position demands a balance of deep technical expertise strategic vision and operational rigor to proactively identify risks streamline monitoring and enforce governance across a dynamic hybrid seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to lead our Network Observability and Compliance function. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability visibility and security of our global network infrastructure. In this role you will:

• Lead a team of high-performing networkObservability engineersto develop ourObservabilityframe work.
• Lead a team of high-performing networkcompliance engineersto develop ourcomplianceframe work.
• Own the networkobservability andcomplianceroadmapparticipatingin cross-functional technology teams to steer ourobservabilitycompliance andCertificationvision and drive toward improvedstandardsin our network governance and standards.
• Work closely and collaboratively with expert network architects and engineers across the larger Global Networks organization.
• Be accountable for driving the delivery and adoption of networkobservability andcompliancepractices and operating models across all Global Networks teams.
• Establish technical level relationships with other key disciplines within Marriott and partner to define and implement networkobservabilitysecurityand regulatory compliance.
• Implement telemetry strategies and advanced monitoring techniques to understand system behavior at a granular level.
• Establish technical relationships andpartneringwith business disciplines MI teams vendors and suppliers to define and enforce the NetworkNREobservability roadmap.
• Manage the performance of the team members and provide mentorship for their growth and performance.
• Driving measurable business value through the development and implementation of networkcompliancetoolssolutions

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Scienceor related technical field experience/certification
• 8 years experiencein a technical role within a Network/Security Engineeringor Operationsoranizationdesigning andimplementing complexand integratednetworkingsolutions with multitudes of technologiesincluding:
• 5 years of experience withNetworkroutingswitchingsecurityoperations and engineering
• 5years experience in Leading and managing technical teams.
• 5 yearsof experience increating network configurations complyingtoGlobal Security and Compliance Standards.
• Compliance andVulnerability Management experience.
• 3 years of experience in collecting processing and monitoring telemetry data with a focus on analyzing troubleshooting and driving continuous improvements in mission-critical networks.
• 3 years of experience with network and application monitoring systems.
• Proven experience designingandimplementinga successful networkObservabilityPlatfornthat adheres to the highest industry standards
• Proven experienceon implementing network monitoring solutionsusing AI/MLSNMPRestAPIetc
• Proven experiencedesigningandimplementinga successful network compliance program that adheres to the highest industry standards
• In-depth knowledge of security compliance and risk management frameworks such as NIST 800-53 CIS CSC ISO 27001 and PCI DSS
• Hardware EOL/EOS Management and Prepare the mitigation plans.
• Implementation of WAN LAN networks with a focus on mission-criticalhighly available customer-facing applications and services
• Technicalexpertisein common routing protocols (e.g. OSPF BGP) IPv6 VPN etc. across a global WAN backbones and distributed datacenter platforms
• Technical knowledge in ancillary network areas like DNS NTP and Network Tools & Management as well as advanced networking disciplines of software-defined networks (SDN) spine & leaf designs load balancing and security design (next-gen firewalls intrusion detection and prevention)
• Foundational knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Python (e.g. requests pandasnornir) Unix Shell Git Ansible and CI.
• Proficiencyin network configuration management digital experience monitoring path synthetics data visualization flow analysis and chat operations.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering written documents detailing network solutions and diagrams.
• Ability to work non-standard hours during change implementations
• Basic knowledge of public cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Preferred:

• Certification in network and/or security technologies (e.g. CCIE CCNP CISSP etc.)
• Experience with designing and engineering Cloud Network and familiar with AWS AzureAlicloud GCP
• Experience with Firewall technologies like CheckpointPaloAltoFortinetetc
• Experience in Network Hardware SoftwareConfiguration Manualor automated testing.
• Strong KnowledgeonNetwork and Security Compliance Standards on bothOnprem and Cloud Components.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of bigger and smaller bets across the team while balancing short-term goals and long-term vision
• Experience innetworkoperationsteam.
• Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success
• Ability to build strong relationships and network throughout the broader IT community
