Job Summary

Position:Director Maintenance & Grounds

Department: Finance & Administrative Services

Type of Position: Full-time Salaried

Exemption Status: Exempt

Work Schedule Hours per week: 40 hours/ 5 days a week

Starting Salary Range: $85072-$112373 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary: Director Maintenance & Grounds supports JCCCs mission by planning organizing and directing all aspects of JCCCs maintenance operations including HVAC/building automation life safety systems electrical plumbing utilities grounds and transportation. The incumbent provides leadership to departmental staff oversees projects and preventive maintenance manages budgets and vendor contracts ensures regulatory compliance and drives operational efficiency across JCCCs facilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelors degree with 6 years of relevant trade experience or trade certification in at least one of the following areas: Electrical plumbing mechanical HVAC/building automation life safety systems transportation or grounds with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid Drivers License required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience.

Position detailsinclude but are not limited to:

  • Leadership & Staff Management:
    • Provide leadership direction and training to departmental staff and Maintenance Supervisors.
    • Coach team members implement disciplinary actions and evaluate performance to ensure effective operations across HVAC electrical/plumbing grounds and transportation teams.
    • Responsible for hiring firing performance appraisals and pay reviews.
  • Strategic Planning & Operations:
    • Work with the Executive Director on strategic departmental planning and develop policies procedures and guidelines.
    • Plan manage and oversee crafts trades landscape and facilities projects including capital infrastructure and master plan initiatives.
    • Establish preventative maintenance schedules and manage energy usage across all buildings and systems.
    • Operates company vehicles as required for maintenance and grounds operations.
  • Budgeting Contracts & Resource Management:
    • Develop implement and monitor budgets for infrastructure maintenance grounds and transportation.
    • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts track expenses implement cost controls and identify opportunities for efficiency and savings.
    • Ensure projects meet specifications budgets and licensing requirements.
  • Compliance Stakeholder Coordination & Systems Management:
    • Maintain compliance with policies procedures and regulations responding to regulatory issues and inspection findings.
    • Coordinate with campus stakeholders to assess needs gather requirements and provide updates on project and maintenance status.
    • Manage the facilities work order system (FAMIS 360) to optimize productivity and inform decision-making.
  • Other duties as assigned:
