Director, Global Supply Chain and Purchasing

Job Summary
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for key commodities materials and components supporting JMA manufacturing operations.
- Identify and qualify strategic suppliers to support cost quality and capacity requirements.
- Lead supplier selection sourcing decisions and long-term supply agreements.
- Negotiate pricing contracts and long-term agreements with global suppliers.
- Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
- Monitor commodity markets and supply trends to mitigate cost volatility and supply risk.
- Establish supplier performance metrics including quality delivery responsiveness and cost competitiveness.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and improvement initiatives.
- Develop contingency sourcing strategies to mitigate supply disruption risk.
- Own overarching S&OP/D&OP operating mechanisms to ensure optimum information sharing and cross functional alignment on sales/manufacturing/inventory planning.
- Define stocking and planning strategies to balance stock levels to cut holding costs while maintaining OTD to customer.
- Define and own operating mechanisms to track actual vs. target identification of gaps and gap closure activities (including slow moving/excess/obsolete inventory).
- Partner with Engineering Operations Logistics and Quality to support new product launches and ongoing production needs.
- Support Design for Cost (DFC) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives with R&D and manufacturing engineering teams.
- Align sourcing strategies with production capacity plans and revenue forecasts.
- Expand and diversify the global supplier base to support operational growth and mitigate global supply risk.
- Support supplier development and capability expansion initiatives.
- Drive supplier engagement in JMAs Lean and continuous improvement culture.
- Lead and develop sourcing professionals and commodity managers.
- Establish sourcing KPIs and performance tracking aligned with JMAs operational goals.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and a culture of accountability.
- Bachelors degree in supply chain Business Engineering or related field (MBA preferred)
- 12-15 years of experience in strategic sourcing procurement or supply chain leadership
- 5-8 years experience in global manufacturing & planning leadership
- Proven experience negotiating global supply agreements and cost reductions
- Strong understanding of global manufacturing supply chains and purchasing
- Experience working with engineering and operations teams on product launches
- Knowledge of commodity markets supplier risk management and cost modeling
- Strong negotiation leadership and cross-functional communication skills
- Experience with Advanced Quality Product Planning (APQP) required
- Experience implementing and managing supplier scorecards and performance improvements
