Director, Global Sourcing
Job Summary
Director Global Sourcing
This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a sourcing and procurement function for a newly formed standalone joint-venture with global operations and $400M in annual revenues. Historically sourcing category strategy and supplier management for this business were embedded within a larger corporate enterprise function. As we stand up independent operations we need a hands-on leader who can design and own the sourcing capability end-to-end combining strategic enterprise-level thinking with direct execution-level ownership of contracts category management RFPs and vendor relationships.
The role reports to the VP of Global Manufacturing & Operations with the majority of focus being on supporting manufacturing facilities technology (hardware/software/systems/services). Because this is a leaner standalone organization rather than a large multi-segment enterprise this single role will own both the strategic sourcing agenda and its operational execution. You will lead a team who will support analytics execute vendor management and act as category/commodity specialists. You and your team will partner closely with our General Counsel function for support on contracting trade compliance and supplier risk.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Director Global Sourcing you will be responsible for:

- Procurement Policy Stand up the joint ventures sourcing policies approval authorities etc.
- RFPs & Strategic Procurement Execution Personally lead and oversee execution of major RFx events and competitive bids; negotiate pricing terms and service levels directly with strategic suppliers; ensure a disciplined repeatable sourcing process across the organization.
- Supplier & Vendor Management Own supplier relationship and supplier quality management for critical print-manufacturing and business-systems vendors; monitor supplier performance resolve escalations and build a resilient diversified supply base for a newly independent company.
- Cost Savings & Continuous Improvement Drive measurable cost savings and cost-avoidance targets; build should-cost models and category benchmarks; apply Lean/continuous-improvement methods to sourcing and procurement processes.
- Cost Analysis & Negotiation Strategy - Analyze and model total procurement costs across categories to identify opportunities to decrease expenditure; contribute to the annual pipeline of procurement initiatives in partnership with the financial planning process; develop negotiation strategies that secure profitable deals with acceptable risk and best-in-class rates and terms.
- Market & Commodity Intelligence Track global markets and commodities relevant to print manufacturing paper/pulp ink and specialty chemicals freight/logistics and packaging and translate market movement into sourcing strategy budget input and risk mitigation.
- Legal & Compliance Partnership Partner with the General Counsel function on contract drafting and negotiation trade/tariff compliance and supplier-related risk (including forced-labor/ESG due diligence); route legal review and escalate supplier disputes appropriately since contract law and compliance sit with the General Counsels office rather than within this role.
- Systems Analytics & Reporting Direct an analytics resource to build spend and supplier dashboards; select and deploy sourcing/procurement (S2C) tools appropriate for a standalone organization; report sourcing performance and savings to the VP of Global Manufacturing & Operations and other JV leadership.
- Technology & Business Systems Sourcing Own sourcing and vendor management for the technology and business-systems spend needed to stand up the joint venture independently (e.g. IT hardware/software business applications telecom) coordinating closely with IT and Finance stakeholders.
- Team Leadership Hire lead and develop a small high-performing team with direct reports covering sourcing analytics vendor management and category execution; build the teams capabilities as the organization scales as a standalone entity.
