Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional transformative Director of AI Product Opsto lead the operational and cultural evolution of Thomson Reuters Tax Audit Accounting & Practice (TAAP) product organization.

In this exciting opportunity as Director AI Product Ops you will evolve our traditional program and operations function into a lean AI-first Product Ops office. Your mission is two-fold: drive operational excellence across our entire software portfolio with near-zero-overhead and spearhead our AI maturity program moving our teams from basic personal productivity to advanced agent-driven workflows.

This is a hands-on builders seat designed to modernize how our teams will serve as a critical catalyst for product innovation and foster faster more effective ways of working across the team. By automating coordination and program management tasks you will not only liberate our product teams from administrative overhead but enable them to focus on deep customer discovery modern product craft and high-velocity executionultimately delivering superior customer experiences higher-quality products and stronger commercial value for Thomson will lead a small senior team of product ops experts and carry a TAAP-wide change-management mandate.

Scope of the Estate

Your operational mandate spans the entire TAAP product landscape:

  • The Core Portfolio (Bedrock):Our market-leading established suite of tax and accounting products.
  • The Agentic Stack (Catalyst):Our cutting-edge agent-first platform powering experiences like CoCounsel and Ready to Review.

Key Responsibilities:

1. AI-First Product Operations

  • Drive a Near-Zero-Overhead Model:Architect and run product operations where AI agents automate traditional coordination taskssuch as status reporting dependency tracking and cross-functional communicationsallowing humans to focus on product judgment and execution.
  • Streamline the Product Estate:Own product operations across both the Core (Bedrock) and Agentic (Catalyst) portfolios unifying them under a single highly efficient and modern operating rhythm.
  • Bridge Multi-Product Dependencies:Own the dependency seam where product commitments break. Build automated tooling and visibility systems to expose cross-team dependencies GTM milestones and timelines across Catalyst and Bedrock applications.
  • Support Modern SDLC Workflows:Ensure that all operational processes and visibility tools integrate seamlessly with our suite of modern agile and AI tools (e.g. Linear Slack GitHub Claude) so that the operational backbone supports rather than slows down rapid engineering sprint cycles.
  • Partner on Migrations:Collaborate with Customer Success to integrate large-scale customer migrations smoothly into the product-ops framework without interrupting core product execution.
  • Define & Execute against Metrics that Matter:Move the organization away from vanity metrics toward metrics that drive the business forward. Execute a regular cadence that moves the metrics and the business.

2. AI Transformation across TAAP

  • Drive the AI-Maturity Roadmap:Lead TAAPs evolution from Level 1 AI usage (individual productivity tools) to Level 2 (shared team infrastructure: e.g. shared prompts MCP integrations shared skills) and toward Level 3 (agents acting on systems of record) and beyond.
  • Enable Modern PM Ways of Working:Use the AI-maturity transformation as the vehicle to elevate the PM craft. Lead enablement of PMs on using modern AI tools (e.g. Cursor v0 Claude Code) and AI-first product development.
  • Build Shared Capability Playbooks:Establish and scale the internal playbooks (covering shared context agentic workflows model evaluations and prompt libraries) that teams adopt as standard reusable infrastructure.

3. Leadership Change Management & Team Evolution

  • Build and Lead a High Impact Team:Recruit mentor and manage a high-performing lean team of senior program-ops experts establishing a strong operational cadence and a high bar for talent & execution.
  • Execute a TAAP-wide Mandate:Act as an influential change agent across TAAP brokering alignment and operational commitments with product engineering and design teams outside your direct reporting line.
  • Drive the Transformation Drumbeat & Communications: In close partnership with the Head of TAAP Product and the TAAP Product Leadership Team design and lead a comprehensive change-management communications strategy. Establish a regular engaging organizational drumbeat to share wins spotlight successful AI-enabled behaviors reinforce new ways of working and maintain high transformation momentum across the division.

Youre a fit for this role if your background includes:

  • AI-Native:You have successfully driven a real organization or department up the AI maturity curve (L1 to L2/L3). You think in terms of systemic capability and shipped outcomes and you are highly fluent in modern AI tooling (agents prompt engineering MCP evals and prototyping).
  • Modern Product-Ops & SDLC Advocate:You value lean automated systems and shared team infrastructure over traditional heavy PMO ceremony. You understand modern software development lifecycles (SDLC) and how to design operational systems that help modern PMs Engineers and Designers build software faster.
  • Ambidextrous Operator:Equally credible and comfortable operating across complex high-transaction legacy architectures (Bedrock) and fast-moving agent-first modern stacks (Catalyst).
  • Transformational Change Leader: You are an inspiring evangelist who drives cultural and behavioral shifts by building excitement capturing buy-in and bringing teams along on the journey. Rather than relying on top-down mandates you lead with influence empathy and positive reinforcement to align cross-functional partners around a shared vision.
  • Hands-on AI Fluency:You are a daily active user of agentsand LLMs. You possess intuitive practical knowledge of how generative AI tools can optimize a product teams day-to-day work.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experiencein program management product operations or technical operations leadership at scale.
  • Deep familiarity with modern product management practices(ideally within modern tech high-growth startups or progressive B2B SaaS) with a clear understanding of how modern PM Engineering and Design squads collaborate.
  • Proven experience implementing modern agile SDLC structuresand automating project-tracking workflows.
  • Experience in regulated or professional software industries (e.g. tax legal audit finance or compliance) where data security accuracy and AI governance are critical is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading change-management and communication initiatives upskilling teams and inspiring cultural transformations to adopt modern technical capabilities.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City San Francisco Los Angeles and/or Irvine CA; McLean VA; Washington DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $181400 USD - $337000 USD. For any eligible US locations unless otherwise noted the base compensation range for this role is $157500 USD - $292500 USD. For Ontario Canada the base compensation range for this role is $172000 CAD - $222000 CAD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individuals knowledge skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
