Direct Support Specialist (DSS)

A Direct Support Specialist (DSS) is a highly experienced individual who has an extensive background working with I/DD individuals including following Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) and implementing protocols. They support individuals to succeed in their life skills independence community integration and much more! They assist the individual in accomplishing their goals as outlined in their Individual Support Plan (ISP). If you are looking for a career path then DSP Connections is for you!

Pay scale: Starting rate of $27 an hour with a fast track to $30 an hour.

This role is based in Salem OR.

Qualifications:

* Minimum 2 years experience supporting individuals in the I/DD community
* CPR/First aid training within 30 days of hire (will provide class opportunities)
* Reliable transportation to/from work
* Ability to follow a Positive Behavior Support Plan
* Valid drivers license insurance and clean driving record. A motor vehicle report will be run on all DSSs who transport clients in a company vehicle.
* Positive and outgoing personality with the ability to carry a good conversation
* Ability to frequently bend kneel stand twist or reach
* Ability to walk and/or stand for the majority of each shift
