As a leading Supported Living Company we are actively seeking dedicated and caring individuals to join our team as In-Home Is What You Will Do:The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing direct support services to individuals with developmental disabilities in a manner that promotes independence dignity choice community inclusion and personal growth. DSPs assist participants in developing daily living skills achieving individualized goals and maintaining safe and healthy living DSP provides individualized support tailored to the needs preferences and goals of each participant while fostering self-advocacy relationship building community integration and skill development. The DSPs goal is to provide world class person centered services and support to the individuals that they RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDSAssist support and teach participants in activities of daily living and independent living participants with preparation and participation in daytime recreational vocational and community and promote good personal hygiene healthy habits and appropriate behavior within home and community Medication Certified and able to pass medications. Assist participants with budgeting skills and money management as participants with grocery shopping menu planning meal preparation household cleaning and daily that participants homes are cleaned and and support participants in developing problem-solving conflict resolution and interpersonal relationship participants in accessing and utilizing community resources public transportation and community organizations of their opportunities for participants to make choices and participate in decisions regarding daily living and future participant empowerment independence self-esteem and participants in developing natural supports and meaningful community leisure and recreational opportunities based on participant interests and and support self-management skills related to health behavior safety and individual service plans behavior support plans and treatment plans consistently and required documentation including daily logs data collection progress notes and shift communication in accordance with agency participant concerns behavioral changes incidents and significant updates to the QIDP Administrator or supervisory appropriately to emergency situations and utilize approved crisis intervention techniques when necessary and according to agency with participant transportation to appointments activities and community outings as a safe work environment and follow OSHA and agency safety all suspected abuse neglect exploitation or other reportable incidents in accordance with agency policy and state all required training monthly staff meetings and annual continuing education professionalism confidentiality and participant dignity in all additional duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONSMust be at least eighteen (18) years of school diploma GED or demonstrated ability to provide services according to an individualized plan of to communicate effectively and professionally with participants families staff and community to read write and communicate effectively in to follow written and verbal to work independently and as part of a to safely lift transfer and assist participants as required including lifting up to fifty (50) computer and documentation skills have an active drivers license and be able to transport clients. LICENSING REQUIREMENTSCurrent CPR and First Aid complete criminal history and background checksFree from communicable diseases as required by applicable of Assistance with Medications training approved by the Idaho State Board of Nursing or other Department-approved training when medication assistance is Department-approved traumatic brain injury training as any certifications or licensure required to perform assigned drivers license reliable transportation and minimum automobile liability insurance coverage of 100/300 if transporting participants.
