Job Summary
JOB DUTIES
- Preparedessertsjuicessaladsandother fooditemsasdirected.
- Preparetraysaccording toplanned menu; checkspecialdiettrayswith dietordersbefore distribution.
- Deliver meal trays to residents or serve meals in the resident dining rooms (depending on isolation status).
- Placetraysinfooddeliverycart.
- Collect plates clear tables and pick up trays after meal service is complete.
- Cleansworkareaaftereachmeal.
- Preparenourishmentcartfornursingresidents.
- Restock pantry as needed.
- Set up dining room for meals and special functions in accordance with facility standards.
- Perform dish washing dutiesandcleaningdutiesifdirected.
- Practice appropriate safety measures to prevent infection accident or injury.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Highschooldiplomaorequivalencycertificate.
- Prior experience in a long-term care or healthcare facility preferred but not required.
- Ability to push pull lift and/or carry up to 25lbs.
- Ability tostandandwalkmostoftheday and climb stairs.
- Availableto workweekendsholidaysandevenings as required.
- ServeSafecertifiedaplusbut not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in cooperation with other staff members.
- Ability towithstandchangesintemperature fromgoing inandout oftherefrigeratorand freezers.
- Mustbeabletohandlefoodpreparationequipmentaswellas abrasivesanddetergentsusedinsanitationduties.
- Abilitytoread writeunderstandEnglishand followverbalandwritteninstructions.
- Be tactful and courteous with residents relatives guests and staff members.
- Highdegreeofpersonalcleanlinessandhygiene.
- Ability to pass the facilitys physical examination upon employment and annually thereafter.
ABOUT THIS POSITION
This is aFull-Time (40 hours) hourly position paying $18.54/HRbased at The Actors Fund Home in Englewood NJ. The successful candidate must be able to cover assigned shifts on a regular basis including holidays and should be available to cover vacations/call outs of other team members on occasion. This position is covered by the SEIU 1199 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
