Overview

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in ambulatory setting requiring independent judgment under the direction of a qualified physician. Proficient in preliminary structural general diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies of patients within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician to include: scanning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology operation of sonography equipment operation of the electronic radiology systems preparation of patient room/equipment/medications and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation. Competent in use and logging of infection control equipment.

Education

• Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography related field or completion of a training program acceptable to the ARRT or ARDMS registry board (Required)

Certification/Licensure

• ARDMS or ARRT (Required)
• BLS

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $40.80 - $60.63 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials standby/on-call pay overtime shift premiums extra-shift incentives or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications experience location market conditions and business needs. The Advanced Imaging Center at BelleHarbour is conveniently located on the campus of Sentara BelleHarbour in Western Tidewater. The center is home to a 3T MRI CT PET CT full digital mammography ultrasound bone densitometry PVL (vascular imaging services) non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing and digital X-ray. Physicians and patients also benefit from the expertise of our sub-specialized radiologists who ensure accurate results from the high quality images. Our sub-specialties include womens imaging musculoskeletal (MSK) body and neuroradiology.
