We are currently searching for a Development Assistant for a Womens Membership Organization. The position is on-site in Washington DC. This is a full-time temporary to permanent position.

Schedule: 40 hours/week

Pay: $23-25/hour


Is This Your Dream Job The Development Assistant provides front-line administrative data and donor services support to the organizations development team. The role combines strong customer service with Excel and database work. You will serve as a primary contact for donors and members respond to phone and email inquiries prepare established reports and follow donor issues through to resolution.


Our Ideal Candidate

  • 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong customer service experience particularly by phone and email
  • Experience using databases or CRM systems
  • Solid Excel skills including working with established reports and organizing data
  • Ability to learn new systems programs and organizational offerings quickly
  • Comfortable working fully onsite five days per week

How Youll Spend Your Day

  • Share responsibility for the Development Departments primary phone queue and shared email inbox
  • Provide high-level donor stewardship and customer service by phone email and occasionally in person.
  • Resolve donor questions involving gifts sustaining donations credits premiums events or account concerns.
  • Use Excel to prepare and distribute established or canned reports.
  • Work within the organizations donor database and maintain accurate information.
  • Learn the organizations different programs premiums pins and donor offerings.
  • Compose clear professional emails to donors members and internal colleagues.
  • Escalate complex donor concerns appropriately while remaining responsible for follow-through.
