Salary:$100000 - $105000; Comprehensive benefits
The Organization:A private non-profit founded in 1977 Chinatown Community Development Center believes in a comprehensive vision of community. We own and/or manage approximately 36 affordable housing buildings serving over 4500 low-income seniors single adults formerly homeless adults and families of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds in San Franciscos Chinatown Tenderloin Western Addition and Polk Gulch neighborhoods. Primary Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice President of Development and Communications the Development and Events Manager is a key member of the development team responsible for the day-to-day activities involved in annual fundraising including special events corporate partnerships annual appeals and campaigns and donor cultivation solicitation stewardship and recognition.
Essential Functions
Annual Giving
- Design and implement a program of annual donor appeals and communications including spring fall and year-end appeals.
- Work with the communications team to produce compelling content and materials for donors including the annual impact report annual fundraising appeals and digital campaigns.
- Manage the annual direct mail email and online fundraising activities to attract retain and upgrade donors annually.
- Manage a portfolio of mid-sized donors and prospects researching cultivating engaging and presenting giving opportunities that result in increased annual giving and introductions to other funders.
- Design and implement strategies to thank recognize and steward Chinatown CDC supporters.
- Design and implement strategies to acquire new donors and re-engage lapsed funders.
- Manage donor data in Salesforce maintaining accurate donor records and lists to ensure effective and timely gift processing and acknowledgement segmentation moves management and donor recognition and stewardship.
- Produce fundraising analytics and regular performance reports (revenue retention ROI pipeline) for leadership and the board.
- Ensure compliance with donor intent data privacy and fundraising ethics.
Corporate Partnerships and Special Events
- Orchestrate special events that attract and inspire donors to give to Chinatown CDC.
- Manage the annual gala including securing the venue managing the event budget and vendors securing corporate sponsors promoting ticket sales managing the guest list and tables and coordinating with colleagues on the event program and collateral.
- Help coordinate events during Chinatown CDCs 50th anniversary campaign including an Alumni Reunion for former staff and board members many of whom are donors prospective donors or key connectors.
- Secure corporate sponsors for events and manage relationships with corporate partners throughout the year to ensure they remain informed and engaged.
- When appropriate arrange tours or volunteer opportunities for corporate partners current or prospective donors and other key organizational partners.
Support Comprehensive Fund Development Efforts
- Develop a strong understanding of Chinatown CDCs programs mission history and community impact.
- Serve as an ambassador and storyteller for Chinatown CDC enhancing the organizations brand strengthening relationships and attracting supporters to the organization.
- Collaborate with team members and colleagues in other departments to promote a culture of philanthropy.
- Provide warm professional and timely customer service to donors volunteers partners and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Development and Communications and team members on department-wide initiatives and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelors degree required.
- Minimum of five years of fundraising or development experience in a nonprofit environment.
- Demonstrated success implementing effective and innovative fundraising strategies.
- Collaborative team player who is eager to learn and build strong relationships with colleagues and partners.
- Highly organized detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent written communication skills and experience writing content for donors for print online and social media.
- Strong verbal communication skills with Mandarin or Cantonese language skills a plus.
- Highly skilled with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with donor management databases such as Salesforce or Raisers Edge.
- Additional technical skills (such as AI tools Adobe InDesign Canva) a plus.
