Developer III HIPAA X12

SYSTEMTECis seeking aDeveloper III - HIPAA X12 for aon-site opportunity for candidates in Columbia SC. Candidate will develop maintain test and support enterprise mainframe applications with a primary focus on COBOL-based systems supporting critical healthcare claims processing. The role will span application development systems analysis production support troubleshooting and implementation while collaborating with technical and operations teams.

Required Qualifications of the Developer III - HIPAA X12:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
• 4 years of experience in application development systems testing systems analysis or a related technical discipline.
• Professional experience developing and supporting applications using COBOL in an IBM Mainframe environment.
• Strong understanding of application development testing quality assurance and integration methodologies.
• Demonstrated analytical troubleshooting problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
• Ability to work independently manage competing priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to understand the downstream impact of application and program changes.
• C2 security clearance is required; candidates must also meet applicable background-screening and residency requirements.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Developer III - HIPAA X12:

Experience with CICS DB2 IMS MQ JCL Easytrieve NDM FTP VPN IBM Connect mainframe utilities and scheduling tools is preferred. Healthcare technology experience involving HIPAA X12 5010 transactions claims processing eligibility enrollment healthcare data formats or electronic data interchange environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities of the Developer III - HIPAA X12:

• Analyze requirements and system specifications design technical solutions and develop or modify COBOL applications.
• Code compile test debug document implement and maintain mainframe applications in accordance with established standards.
• Investigate production issues perform root-cause analysis resolve application problems and recommend system enhancements.
• Develop test data and files validate application logic assess program dependencies and evaluate the impact of proposed changes.
• Prepare technical specifications functional designs workflow documentation procedures and other supporting materials.
• Coordinate application implementations and provide production support including participation in an on-call rotation.

Work Location: Columbia SC 100% onsite. MondayFriday 8:00 AM5:00 PM.
