Job Summary
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code Title 10 as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W4JLAA STRATEGIC SYSTEMS SUPPORT ELEMENT.
- Oversee the daily execution of Brigade operations and ensures operational tasks align with the Commanders priorities.
- Develop short- mid- and long-range strategies to support current and emerging operations.
- Serve as the Deputy of Operations within the G3 Directorate of a Brigade Size unit.
- Present formal and informal briefings to senior officials within the Special Operations Community to support operational decision-making.
- Represent the organization at interagency forums to communicate organizational positions and coordinate studies.
- Maintain liaison with Special Operations counterparts and higher headquarters to synchronize operational efforts.
- Evaluate operational proposals and plans for adherence to public law policies and directives.
- Advise the command on operational requirements from internal and external organizations and/or agencies.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination as determined by a completed background investigation.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85 Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a T5 (or equivalent) investigation.
- Requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 35% of the time.
