SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Deicing Duty Manager I is responsible for assisting the General Manager with day-to-day deicing operations and providing station support for additional operations assigned to the Deicing Operations Team. The successful candidate should have a strong background in supervising frontline employees with a focus on safety customer service and operational efficiency. This airport-based role supports the aviation industry and requires extended work hours primarily during adverse weather operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the General Manager to develop implement maintain and oversee workforce planning workflow and process management to ensure deicing operations perform at optimal levels
Supervise day-to-day deicing operations
Manage deicing activities to ensure work quality standards are met
Work alongside deicing employees to assist in active deicing operations as needed
Provide and facilitate safety training to employees
Ensure all safety policies and programs are adhered to
Promote and support the companys Safety Management System (SMS) initiatives
Ensure hazards incidents and safety concerns are reported and addressed in accordance with company procedures
Review and complete all relevant operational reports accurately and timely
Participate in the development and implementation of operational and safety process improvements
Act as a primary interface to customers alongside the General Manager
Ensure completion and accuracy of required recordkeeping
Assist in recruiting interviewing and hiring processes
Communicate performance expectations and company initiatives regularly to employees
Assist in the development and delivery of performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to improve morale and performance
Manage and diffuse customer complaints by developing implementing and communicating corrective action plans
Provide oversight and direction of inventory management and vendor relations
Demonstrate regular predictable attendance at assigned work location
Report for on-call shifts during severe weather and/or nonoperational months
Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age or older
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
Minimum one year of Management Supervisor or Lead experience required
Fleet maintenance and mechanical knowledge preferred
Must hold a valid drivers license.
Ability to read write speak and understand the English language including operational documents
Ability to use electronic devices including tablets computers and mobile devices
Ability to communicate effectively both in-person and electronically
Pass a background check and drug screen
Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA RAIC TSA Port Authority U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
Ability to work any shift including nights weekends and holidays within a 24/7 operation

The pay rate listed on this post is what the company reasonably expects to pay for this position. However individual compensation may vary based on qualifications skills competencies education and experience.
