Job Summary
The Child Development Division (CDD)s Child Care Financial Assistance Program seeks an individual with knowledge of program integrity practices as applied to public assistance programs. This position is responsible for resolving data match information reviewing fraud referrals and auditing vendor documents to determine if sufficient grounds exist for payment recovery. Duties include secondary payroll approval fraud investigations analysis of provider attendance and preparing written reports on findings. Previous experience in the methods and techniques of investigation and the ability to train others is preferred. This position requires conducting in-person investigations and travel throughout Vermont. Successful candidates will have strong data analysis computer and writing skills. Someone who is self-motivated and can work both independently and collaboratively with other program integrity staff would be a great fit for this position.
CDD is housed in the Waterbury State Office Complex (WSOC). This is a hybrid position allowing for some remote work. The Child Care Financial Assistance Program team and CDD also hold additional in-person meetings and team events in Waterbury. A successful candidate should have a reliable way to get to Waterbury as needed for these activities.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the accordance with AHS Policy 4.02 Hiring Standards Vermont and/or national criminal record checks as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks as appropriate to the position under recruitment will be conducted on candidates with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
Duties are performed in a variety of settings including district offices and clients homes. Considerable travel may be required and incumbents may be required to use either a state-provided vehicle or a private means of transportation. Incumbents may encounter reluctance or resistance from clients or other individuals in providing necessary information. Incumbents must be able to work within tight time limits and under considerable stress while dealing with hostile/angry clients.
Two (2) years or more of experience with enrollment or eligibility determination case management program compliance or administration.
OR
Bachelors degree in a human services field AND one (1) year or more of experience with enrollment or eligibility determination case management program compliance or administration.
