Day Programs Direct Support Professional

• Provide ongoing meaningful engagement activities or opportunities per client choice. Encourage active participation in activities.
• Support individuals in participating in community activities recreational outings employment and skill-building programs.
• Implement individualized service plans and behavioral support strategies as directed.
• Promote dignity respect and choice in all interactions.
• Maintain a clean safe and supportive environment in compliance with agency standards and regulatory requirements.
• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner (e.g. progress notes incident reports medication logs).
• Assist with daily habilitation and personal care as needed.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow all safety procedures and protocols. Provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Communicate effectively with individuals families team members and supervisors.
• Attend all required trainings meetings and professional development sessions
• Provide non-medical transportation for clients and provide assistance as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years previous experience in direct care human services or related field preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid drivers license with less than 6 points.

• Work is performed in community settings or day program environments.
• Requires the ability to perform physical tasks and respond to emergencies.

• Must be able to lift push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to implement behavior support procedures (PBSCI).
