This position supports the agencys Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) efforts by increasing and improving data availability and access to data for decision making. Additionally this position will assist epidemiologists and collaborate with IT staff in developing and deploying RedCap projects as needs arise. This position also participates in the development and roll-out of a new and more robust Electronic Disease Surveillance System (EDSS) including data validation.Participate in data management and validation efforts for a new Electronic Disease Surveillance System (EDSS).Develop modify maintain and run R and python scripts to prepare data for analysis and visualization and respond to data requests. Crosstrains staff to ensure sustainability of these functions.Develop and support RedCap projects for routine or ad hoc needs.Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned including required travel if requested and responds as directed during emergencies which may occur outside normal work hours and travel if requested.- Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements:A bachelors degree and professional experience related to the position.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

- Preferred Qualifications
Degree in epidemiology biostatistics mathematics data science or a closely related field and relevant working experience is preferred. Knowledge of programming languages is preferred. - Additional Comments
